  Wesam Y. Alghamdi
  CEO

  Wesam Y. Alghamdi assumed the role of NGHC in January 2024 and will be leading the growth of the project till it’s execution and full operation in 2026. With over 25 years of cross-functional senior leadership experience within the industry in the Middle East, Wesam will drive the progress of NGHC’s project and is looking forward to leading NGHC in its pursuit of building a carbon-free world for future generations.

  Ana Munoz
  Chief Legal Officer

  Ana has over 20 years of legal experience, including a decade in the Middle East advising on large infrastructure projects and extensive work in the oil and gas sector. She aims to provide pragmatic, commercially sensible legal guidance, emphasising sustainability and compliance. Ana holds a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, with a strong legal standing in the United States.

  Yako J. Wijnands
  Vice President – Operations

  Yako assumed his responsibilities as VP Operations in January 2022, bringing with him over 30 years’ global operations leadership experience in the industrial gases and energy industries. He is a strategic, influential, and inspiring leader with extensive global experience in facility management, operational excellence, and business development.

  Zahid Hussain
  Chief Finance Officer

  With over 18 years in O&G and energy, Zahid is an experienced industry professional. His recent eight-year role at ACWA Power, including Director of Finance at Jazan IGCC, was instrumental in company growth. Zahid also served as CFO at Shuaibah IWPP and deputy CFO at Rabigh Electricity Company, ensuring financial prudence. Zahid holds degrees in Commerce, CPA, and CMA.

  Gerrit Viljoen
  Executive Project Director

  Gerrit Viljoen is the Executive Project Director at NGHC, leading the timely execution of each phase of construction across the green hydrogen production and power generation sites in NEOM. Previously, Gerrit has worked at Sasol and Denel, holding key senior positions, and driving impactful business optimisation initiatives across research & development, project management and operations. Gerrit holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics as well as a B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, bringing a wealth of expertise and leadership to the team and his endeavors.

  Hamoud Al Mutairi
  Commercial Director

  Hamoud Al Mutairi is the Commercial Director at NGHC. An agile executive and passionate team player with over 23 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, Hamoud utilises his wealth of expertise in commercial development, projects, operations and risk management to ensure sustained operational excellence across all commercial activities.

  Shaun Howard
  EHS&S Director

  Shaun specialises in EHS roles across various sectors and has a proven track record of safety, sustainability, and excellence. Shaun’s visionary approach drives diverse and inclusive teams, emphasising safety, well-being, and environmental sustainability. He holds key certifications and a successful career history with prominent companies, including KBR, WorleyParsons, Chevron, and Jazan Gas Projects Company.

  Marketing and Communications Director

  Komal has a proven track record of over 15 years’ experience across the technology and energy sectors. Throughout her career, she has excelled in launching compelling integrated communication strategies that not only bolster corporate reputation but also amplify brand impact and propel business expansion. Her commanding executive presence and communications acumen has been instrumental in providing leadership advisory and adeptly handling high-pressure situations with a positive and practical mindset.

  Supply Chain Director

  Mike assumed the position of Supply Chain Director of NGHC late 2023, drawing on over 30 years of international supply chain leadership experience gained in a career across Europe, the Middle East and Far East in the Oil and Energy industry. He is passionate about developing people, and positive environmental change, as these ultimately leave a legacy for the future.
